AOKAUTERE

(From Our Own Correspondent.) AOKAUTERE, April 19. At the annual meeting of the Church of England committee in Aokautere, Mr W. F. Field was re-elected secretary, which position ho has filled for tho past 18 years. Tho following committee was elected:—Messrs Gosling, Andorson, Hoperoft, Lanksliear, Ferguson, K. \V. Field and Mcsdames Gosling, Lanksliear, W. F. Field, Anderson and Ferguson. Canon Woodward, who presided, congratulated the committee on the year’s work. Ho also said that it was very gratifying to 'note that tho services during the past twelve months had been well attended,- which was the best sign of the Church’s prosperity. A special vote of thanks was accorded Mr Field for his services as secretary. Rev. P. Wiltshire asked that, a hearty vote of thanks be carried for Miss Nancy Field for providing the music for the church, also to Miss Anderson and Miss Brown, who had assisted on occasions. Rev. Mr and Mrs Wiltshire wore askecl to accept a vote of thanks for their kindly interest in the district, and for assistance not only at church functions, but at all times for the benefit of tho school and other laudable objocts. At the conclusion of the business part of the meeting, Mr I-I. G. Bagnall, of Palmerston North, expressed tho appreciation of tho vestry at the splendid work that was accomplished by the country church committees 'in the way of raising money and paying their assessments at a time like this. He wished to thank, on behalf of All Saints’ vestry, the Aokautere Church Committee for the splendid results achieved.
