AUCKLAND, April 6. A raid, was made by detectives tonight on premises in Grey’s Avenue, in the city,, allegedly used as a pakapoo bank, and three Chinese were arrested. While tho police were inside a demonstration was made by a crowd which had collected, and two bricks were thrown through a plateglass window of the premises. When going through the premises the police found one door heavily barred, and three iron bars were used in battering it down. Tho police collected a quantity of articles, including a book on pakapoo, three sheath knives and small iron bars wrapped in paper.
At a special court at the police station, Wong Ah Hoo, aged 42, Lee Gip, aged 35, and Ah War, aged 52, were charged with keeping premises as a common gaming house and were remanded on bail of £IOO each.
