NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION
The monthly meeting of the council of tho New Zealand Golf Association (inc.) was held on Monday, April 4, 1932, when there were present:—Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), A. D. S. Duncan, M. J. Crombie, W. A. Kiely, E. Pago, Col. It. O. Cliesney and G. O. Sutton (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr W. E. A. Gill.
Two new clubs wore elected members of tho association, namely: Solway Golf Club, Masterton, and Luinsden Golf Club, Lumsden.
It was reported that replies were being awaited from three of those who had been approached to participate as members of the Kirk-Windeyer Cup team, but since tho meeting Messrs Rana Wagg and John Hornabrook had signified that they would both be available if selected. Dr. Ross was the only player from whom a reply was being awaited. The selection committee was requested to select an emergency in addition to tho five members of the team, tho emergency membor only to go over in the event of one of the five selected not being able to sail. . A communication was received from the New- Zealand Green-keepers’ Association to give prominence to the clubs to the effect that a Green-keep-ers’ Association has been formed and that the hon. secretary is Mr G. W. Maughan, care of the Maungakiekie Golf Club, Auckland. Various correspondence with tiie New Zealand Green Research Committee was considered, and also a considerable amount of correspondence .from affiliated clubs.
