FOXTON, Dec. 3.
The Methodist Ladies’ Social Guild held a social afternoon and sale of work in the Town Hall supper room on Wednesday which was well patronised and was very si'ccessful both from a social and financial point of view. Tho following were in charge of tho stalls: Sewing, Mesdames Berry and Parkin; cake, Mesdames Chrystall and Honore; produce, Mesdames Riches, Hughes and Cummerfield.
On Saturday last a challenging rink from Levin met the holder’s rink (Rangihauea) in a match for tho Kinneberg Feathers. After a very good game the holders retained the trophy. Yesterday afternoon the challenge for the Awahou Feathers by a Shannon team, which has been held over for the past fortnight, was played, and resulted in a close game being experienced. The final figures were: Foxton 20, Shannon 18. Yesterday afternoon the Nye Ferns changed hands, when a rink skipped by Walker won the trophies by one point from a rink skipped by Thomson. Next Wednesday the Foxton Club will hold a "coming-of-age” party, when the first officials of the club, together with the centre officials and rinks from clubs in this centre will bo present.
