IDLE MINE.
RESUMPTION HOPED FOR. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 26. A conference between the directors of the Grey Valley Collieries, Ltd., nnd men was held to-day for tho purpose of reaching an agreement for the resumption of work at the Dobson Mine, which has boon idle since October 1. The conference, it is- reported, was of a friendly nature and the men’s representatives have returned to the coast to submit proposals to the union, which the company hopes tho men will accept.
