GENERAL FORECAST. An anti-cyclone centred east of New Zealand lias intensified somewhat. The depression on the Tasman Sea has become shallower owing to the development of a moderate cyclone to the north of Norfolk Island. Winds freshening easterly north of Auckland; elsewhere variable with northerly to westerly prevailing, fresh at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits, but otherwise moderate. Seas generally smooth to moderate, but rising north of East Cape. Light to moderate and variable winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with smooth to moderate seas. Weather still fair for the most part, but with considerable cloud and in places mist or fog; scattered showers developing in the far north and south and in Westland. Mild temperatures. DISTRICT REPORT. FAIR TO CLOUDY. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for variable and moderate breezes. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but misty in places.
