BARON’S SNUFF BOX.
A diamond-studded gold snuff box, presented by the King of Wurttemburg to Baron von Ludwig, who died in Caj>etown .in 1847, realised at auction there 460 guineas. Baron von Ludwig left home in consequence of a duel. The snuff box was found by a solicitor when searching his papers and deeds in his office. The Supreme Court ordered the sale, which two descendants of Baron von Ludwig—a policeman and a storekeeper —attended.
