THE ECONOMY COMMITTEE. RESULTS OF DELIBERATIONS. FULL CABINET MEETING TO-DAY. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received August 19, 10.40 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 18.

The Cabinet Economy Committee held two sessions last evening and a session of nearly six hours to-day. When to-day’s meeting had ended it was stated that the committee had completed its survey of the economic and financial position and that to-mor-row morning the results of its deliberations would be placed before the full Cabinet meeting. On Thursday morning the consultative committee of twelve, which keeps the Ministers in touch with the Parliamentary Labour Party, will meet, and in the afternoon there will be a joint meeting of the General Council of the Trades Union Congress and the National Executive of the Labour Party, which it is expected will accept the Government’s proposals, the full scope of which will then be communicated to tlie Opposition leaders. It is expected that the Economy Committee will be present at both Labour meetings on Thursday. An earlier message stated: —lt is believed that the problems before the Economy Committee were found to be more difficult than was expected, especially the proposal to tax fixed in-terest-bearing securities.
