GENERAL FORECAST. A slight anti-cyclone has been crossing the Dominion, and a moderate depression is advancing over the Tasman Sea. Moderate northerly to westerly winds freshening in and south of Cook Strait. Seas rather rough on parts of the West Coast; otherwise smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to fresh westerly and later south-westerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with moderate seas. Weather mainly fair and mild, but becoming unsettled soon in western districts, more especially from Taranaki southward and in the far north and south with scattered showers. DISTRICT REPORT. MILD AND HAZY CONDITIONS. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for variable and moderate breezes and northerly moderate winds prevailing.
