CHINAMAN ATTACKED
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 18. The police are investigating a case of alleged assault on an elderly Chinaman, Wong Tim, a market gardener, with intent to rob. The assault is said to have been committed recently at night by two young men. The Chinese was brually hit on the head and face after he had .opened the door in response to knocking. His cries brought assistance, and the men decamped. Wong has now recovered.
