FOUR MEN CHARGED.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 3. Found in the yard of the Courtenay Place Post Office last night, and charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with being unlawfully on premises, but in circumsances which did not disclose the commission of, or intention to commit, any other offence, four men explained their presence as being out of mere curiosity. They were: Albert James Rickard, aged 19, a labourer, Frank Delderfield, aged 20, a labourer, Donald Leslie McLeod, aged 21, a seaman, and William Browning* Watkins, aged 46, a fishmonger. It was stated that they were found at 10.45 o’clock by two postal employees, and as they could give do satisfactory explanation they were held until the police arrived. Rickard and Delderfield on one occasion were found in the Rates Office of the Town Hall. 'By crossing a fence at the back of Courtenay Place, access is possible to the backs of all business houses in Courtenay Place. Accused were convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within three months.
