HEAVY WEATHER LAST EVENING,
HARBOUR CRAFT DRAG MOORINGS.
(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July 6, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, July 6. Sydney was swept last night by a driving southerly gale and heavy rain. In many suburbs chimneys and hoardings were blown down. Motor boats and yachts in the liarhour dragged their moorings and some were battered on the shore. The French steamer St. Joseph, en route from Noumea to Port Kembla, was forced into port for shelter. A special weather forecast gives warning of strong winds to gales over the Tasman Sea and about tne New South Wales coast. During' tue storm a lorry collided with a car and overturned. Eleven men were injured, three seriously.
