AN EMERGENCY BILL. LONDON, July 3. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Ramsay MacDonald announced that he would introduce an Emergency Coal Mine Hours Bill to-morrow, which would be debated on Monday and Tuesday.
MINERS SUPPORT MEASURE. OPPOSITION BY OWNERS. Received Julv 4, 12.40 p.m. LONDON, July 3. The Miners’ Conference accepted the Government’s Coal Bill which continues the seven and a-half hour day for one year, abolishes spreadover hours and maintains the existing wage rates. The owners are strongly opposing the Bill.
