MARKETS FOR PRODUCE.

During a visit to Auckland this week, Mr J. A. Nash, M. P., extended an invitation to Sir James Parr to come to Palmerston North to address a meeting of farmers and others in connection with our products on the homo market. Sir James agreed to do so and a meeting will be held at the A. and P. Association’s lecture hall on Wednesday next at 2 p.m. to which all aro invited. Mr L. B. Wall, president of the association, will preside. After serving four years as High Commissioner, Sir James devoted ono year to the Empire Trade campaign in which ho spoke at all the principal centres in England. Ho will deal fully with the important subject of the Homo market and also discuss the position of English trade and tariff ' reform in the Homeland. For the past twelve months Sir Jamos has boon agitating for an English tax against all foreign foodstuffs and ho will therefore have something to say of considerable interest to every farmer in the district. His description of the English economic position given to tho Auckland Chamber of Commerce recently was graphic and informative. Sir James will be remembered as formerlv Minister for Education. Tho following will comprise the subjects ho will speak upon:—England’s economic position to-day; Home market for our produce; tho "reason of its depression to-day; and a High Commissioner’s views.
