“WIZARD” SMITH’S ATTEMPT. SYDNEY, April 19. “Wizard” Smith’s speed-car will be ready in five weeks, when, if the weather conditions in New Zealand are suitable, he will sail for he Dominion, in order to attack the world speed record on the Ninety Mile Beach. Mr Smith is waiting for advice from the Auckland Automobile Association.

Mr Smith’s Australian-built car will have to exceed 245.73 m.p.h. to better Sir Malcolm Campbell’s record. Mr Smith hopes to touch 300 m.p.h.
