FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA.
MR C. A. SCOTT REACHES SYDNEY. SYDNEY, April 19. Mr Charles Anderson Scott. whe made a record flight from England to Australia, landed at Mascot Aerodrome, Sydney, at about three o’clock this afternoon. Ail official escort of six aeroplanes met him some miles beyond the city and flew in formation with him to the aerodrome, where he received hearty cheers from many hundreds of people. At a reception arranged by the Aero Club, Mr Scott told the members that he expected his record from England to Australia would soon be lowered to eight and a-half days.
UNIVERSITY AIRMEN AT DARWIN.
A message from Darwin states that Messrs Fairbairn and Shenstone, the Cambridge undergraduates, landed there from Timor this afternoon and received a cordial welcome from the Government Resident. They left England on February 19 and had a quiet, uneventful, and leisurely trip. Mr Fairnbairn is a Victorian. His father is a wealthy pastoralist. Mr Shenstone is an Englishman.
