MANGAWEKA EWE FAIR. Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report that at the Mangaweka .ewe fair held on Thursday, 19th inst., a total yarding of some 20,000 odd ewes came to hand., While tho demand was not animated, there was a very fair clearance effected and prices realised were on a par with those ruling in other centres. Quotations: 2-th ewes, 14s, 15s 6d, a pen of 134 account W. Davidson sold at 18s 9d; small 2-th ewes, 8s *jd, 9s 6d, lls 3d to 12s; 2-th ewes account Russell’s Estate sold at 15s 6d; 4-th maiden ewes account Russell’s Estate sold at 15s Bd, 15s 9d; 5-year ewes account Russell’s Estato sold at 7s 9d to 8s; 4-year ewes, 9s, 10s 6d to lls for specially good lot; 4 and 5year ewes, 7s, 8a to 9s Id; 5-year ewes, 3s Bd, 4s 6d, ss, 5s 6d, 6s, 7s 2d, 7s Bd.

At Westfield sale to-day ox beef was yarded in avorage numbers. The demand was steady and late rates again ruled. Cow and heifer beef was also yarded in about the usual numbers, the demand being steady, with values on a par with late rates. Extra choice ox sold to 27e per 1001 b. • choice and prime ox sold to 27s per 1001 b.; choice and prime ox, 24s to 265; just killable, 21s to 235; prime young cow and heifer beef, 23s to 265; just killable, 12s to 225. Heavy prime steers made £9 12s 6d to £lO ss; lighter, £8 2s 6d to £9 10s; light, £6 17s 6d to £8; small and unfinished, £5 to £6 15s; heavy prime cows and heifers, £6 103 to £7; lighter, £5 5s to £6 7s 6d; other killable cows, £2 10s to £5. Sheep were again yarded in big numbers, for which competition was steady, and generally ’ values were about on a par with late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers, 12s 6d to 13s 3d; heavy prime, 11s 6d to 12s 3d; medium; 10s to 11s 3d ; light and unfinished, 8s to 9s 6d; heavy prime ewes, 8s to 9s 3d; lighter, 6s 9d to 7s 9d; other ewes, 4s to 6s 6d. Lambs. —The offering of lambs was a heavy one, but the bulk .of the entry comprised store lines. All prime lambs were in good demand and sold at late rates. AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. SYDNEY, Feb. 19. Wheat prices are steady, with moderate business. Bulked wheat ,2s 2d; bagged, 2s 3£d per bushel, equivalent to Is 7£d at country stations. Flour, £7 10s per ton; pollard, £4 5s per ton; bran, £3 15s per ton. Potatoes: Tasmanian, £6 to £7; others, £5 10s per.ton. Onions, Globes, £5 per ton. Oats: White, 2s 6d, and Algerian 3s per bushel. Maize, 3s 9d per bushel. WHEAT CONFERENCE. LONDON, Feb. 18. The Evening Standard pays that both Australia and Canada have made representations to Britain to guard their interests at the Wheat Conference in Paris on February 23. The Standard understands that the real object is to see how a European union by internal economic adjustment can obviate the necessity for imports from the Dominions and Argentina.
