TWO MEN IN MACHINE. SYDNEY, Jan. 1. Grave fears are felt for the safety of an air pilot, Captain W. Pittendrugli, and a mining expert, S. Harare, who have been missing in an arid part or Central Australia for twelve days. They were engaged in mineral exploration and left Alice Springs on December 20 to join other members of a party camped 300 milen away at llbilba. They wero last seen bv local aborigines flying well off their course. Captain Pittendrugli is a British pilot, more recently instructor in aviation at Mascot, Sydney, while Mr Hamro is a resident of Petersham, Sydney. Search ’planes have left for the scene.
