FIRE POLICE.
.CONSTITUTIONAL MEETING. For the purpose of adopting a constitution. members of the recently formed Palmerston North City Fire Corps held a general meeting last evening. Nine new members were sworn in by the Mayor (Mr A. J. Graham).- It was decided that an annual membership fee of 2s 6d, be levied ; the maximum membership was fixed at 35, but honorary members may be appointed on the payment of ss. It was decided to hold the meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. The city will he divided into four parts and lieutenants were appointed, one for each ward. The chairman reported that arm hands were being secured and would be available shortly. The matter of eqnioment required was left in the hands of the chairman. It was decided that three messengers be appointed to assist the corps. The election of officers resulted as follow: —Secretary. Mr G. M. Louisson; captain. Mr W. R. Kells; deputy captain. Mr W. J. Millen ; lieutenants, Messrs L. Wells, F. .Simms, L. H. Lewis and G. Brown.
