TO-DAY’S SHOOT. FIRST OF""SEASON. The Palmerston North Gun Club hold its first shoot of the season to-day. in favourable weather. The attendance was up to the average and the results were as follow: Stubbs Cup, first round.—M. Kearins (12yds, 10 birds) 1; Peter Meehan (18, 9), C. Rope (18, 9), P. A. Meehan (16, 9), N. D. Stubbs (13, 9), W. A. Thomson (16, 9), equal, 2; J. Dunlop (17, 8), R. G. Smith (13, 7), K. Thomson (17, 4), W. A. Thompson won in the shootoff for second place. Trophy shoot (presented by Messrs P. A. Meehan, and W. Weddell). —W. A. Thomson (16, 10). 1; C. R. Rofe (18, 9) 2; B. K. Thomson, P. A. Meehan (16, 8); N. D. Stubbs (13, 8) ;M. Kearins ,(14, 7), P. Meehan (18, 6), J. Dunlop (16, 6), P. Stubbs (13, 6), R. Smith (13, 6). _ The box sweeps were won by ii. iv. Thomson.
