SOCCER.
ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB. A special general meeting of the Athletic Football Club was held pn Wednesday evening, there being a large number of members present. Mr A. Rainfofd presided. Tlie secretary reported on the club’s progress this season. The club had to be complimented on its senior team winning the competition. It was a credit to all players taking part. The junior team in the .fifth grade came third “with 12 points, this being tire first season the club has had a junior team. The Terrace End School team was not so successful as it was last year, having only secured two points. The club’s total for the Chinese Cup was 38 and it won the trophy. Three junior players were recommended for a trial with the senior team next season, namely, Kendall, Richardson and Reid. Mr P. Child intimated that Mr G. Luoni had promised to donate a goldmounted pen for the junior grade team, to be allocated as the committee thinks fit. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Luoni. , The meeting concluded with thanks to the president, secretary, and all who had worked hard for the club’s successes.
