ALLEGED CONSPIRACY.
TRIAL IN SYDNEY. Received September 20, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 20. The trial is proceeding of four officials of the Australian Federal Life and General Assurance Company on a charge of conspiracy to defraud policyholders. .' The accused are Vivian Partridge, managing director; James Cochrane, accountant; Ralph Paul, secretary; and Harry Roach, accountant. A fifth man, named Albert Smith, was discharged from the case, there being no evidence to implicate him. The i defehdants, who were wellknown comriiercial men, were arrested during a dramatic raid by detectives last April on the offices of the Australian Federal Life and General Assurance Company.
