RATANA’S SON A CANDIDATE. AUCKLAND, Sept. 19.. The choice of the followers of the Maori prophet Tahu A\ r iremu Ratana in the by-election in the AVestern Maori constituency has definitely gone to the son of the leader, Tuku Uru Ratana. The first announcement of this development, of the campaign was made to-day in Auckland. Mr'T. U. Ratana unsuccessfully contested the Western Maori seat against Sir Maui Pomar'e at the general elec*loThe selection of Ratana’s son has resulted in the withdrawal of one of the original candidates in the election, Mr A. H. Te Mete, of Tauranga.
