FORMER GOVERNOR-GENERAL. AYRSHIRE BARONET RETURNS. ‘.‘Genera? Sir Charles Fergusson, Bart., of Killkerran, Governor-Gen-eral of New Zealand for the past five years, arrived at his ancestral home, Kilkerran, Ayrshire, accompanied by Lady Alice Fergusson and his eldest son,' Mr James Fergusson. They arrived at Kilkerran railway station front London at 2.45, and were warmly received by tenantry and estate workers. The station was gaily decorated with flags and bunting.” This is the manner in which the Kilmarnock Standard of April 12 re cords the arrival home of their “popular Ayrshire Baronet” after relinquishing his Vice-Regal appointment in the Dominion, and the journal, in its appreciation of the event, goes on to add: “When the party left the train Lady Alice Fergusson was presented with n beautiful bouquet by Miss Margaret Brown, Kilkerran Station.
