UNREST IN INDIA.
OPERATIONS AGAINST AFRIDIS. DELHI, Aug. 14. The Government of India is apparently contemplating immediate large scale operations against the Afridis in order to prevent other tribes joining the insurgents, for large bodies of troops from tho Jhansi Brigade passed through Lahore yesterday en route for the frontier. British women and children have been evacuated from Peshawar. Armoured cars to-day brought mails to Peshawar from Nowshera. It is reported that the Afridis suffered severe casualties from the air and during battles with troops and police.
