GIANT AIRSHIP.
FLIGHT ACROSS ATLANTIC. RETURN JOURNEY BEGINS. OTTAWA, Aug. 14. The British airship RIOO left St. Hubert for the return journey to England on Wednesday at 9.29 p.m. A messago from Montreal says that the dirigible was on its way before the crowd realised it. A, roar of applause broke as the ship drifted from its mast with five of the engines humming softly and one silent. BRITISH-CANADIAN SERVICE. NEW TYPE OF CRAFT SUGGESTED (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 14. Definite plans for the early establishment of an airship service between Britain and Canada have been laid before Mr R. B. Bennett, the Canadian Prime Minister, by Sir Dennistoun Burney, designer of RIOO. Details are not disclosed, but it is understood that Sir Dennistoun suggests a new typo of airship, much larger than RIOO, to carry mails and passengers on a trans-Atlantic service, five per cent, of the cost to be borne by the two Governments. Probably the proposal will be discussed between the Ministers at the Imperial Conference.
