DAMAGES AWARDED.
Per Press Association. ROTORUA, Aug. 13. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Mrs Colin David Smith, of Kawaha Point, Rotorua, claimed from Thomas Henry Hulton £3OO damages for alleged false and malicious statements. Mr M. H. Hampson, counsel for plaintiff, asked that the Court bo cleared. Counsel’s request was refused. The evidence was of an intimate, domestic character. After a great quantity of evidence had been given in respect to the fclaim, Mr Paterson, S.M., summed up in a scathing indictment of the defence and the conduct of defendant, and awarded damages on the first cause of the plaint of £2O, and on the two second causes £IOO each. .
