FIRE ON STEAMER.
REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE. Received August 13, 10.5 a.m. .LONDON, Aug. 12. A message from Durban says that tli© British, steamer Brookwood lias sent a wireless message stating that she is on fire in her atter-hold and endeavouring to smother the blaze. The vessel, which lias a cargo of coal, is making for Mauritius. Steamers nearby havo been requested to assist, if necessary.
