ART UNIONS
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 13. Rev. \V. Lawson Alarslr delivered an address to the Auckland Presbytery on art unions. He condemned “the present riot of art unions in New Zealand,” and a series of resolutions of protest against the system was unanimously adopted by tho Presbytery. Air Alarsh stated that during the 18 months ended March 31 last twelve art unions were held and they made a total profit of £126,300, but it cost no less than £91,000 to produce this. In one particular case £6IOO was spent to get a return of £IOO.
