TRADE WITH THE EAST.
AUSTRALIA’S EFFORTS. SYDNEY, Aug. 11. Attempts to stimulate Australia’s trade with the East are being made at a conference between shipping, distributing, and producing organisations.
The Minister for Markets, Mr Parker Moloney, said to-day that a genuine attempt would be made to reduce shipping freights. He added that Australia’s trade for the past three years with China, Japan, the Netherlands, East Indies, British Malaya, Siam, India and Ceylon had aggregated £130,000,000.
