PRISONERS ESCAPE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 20. Francis Gomez, aged 30, a prisoner receiving treatment at the Auckland Hospital, escaped, clad in another patient’s clothes, early this morning. Gomez was receiving treatment for his eyes. He has not been recaptured yet. Gomez was sentenced in Wellington in 1929 to five years’ imprisonment for breaking and entering and theft. James Alexander Scorringe, aged 23, eicaped from the Waikune Prison Camp, National Park, yesterday, and is still at large.
