In a match for the Norden Cup this afternoon, Wanganui beat Bush Union by 5 goals to 1. After a. torrential downpour the playing conditions were not of the best, but the game was a good one. though rather ragged in the first spell. Play was fast after the interval at which period. anganui led bv one goal to nil. For Wanganui the scorers were: Tizard (2) R Hughes (2) and Oldridge, while Rendle scored the Bush Union’s only goal. The second 4 match in the hockey Challenge Shield was played to-day l>etween Canterbury and Wellington and resulted in a draw—two goals each. It was a fast, open game. There was no score at half time. S. Bell opened Canterbury s account, scoring from a corner hit. Robb soon equalised for Wellington. Burke scored Canterbury’s second goal soon after Philpotts scored Wellington’s second goal ten minutes before rime was called. RESULTS ELSEWHERE.
