’PLANES CRASH.
AUSTRALIAN PILOT’S ESCAPE. Received Mav 16, 11 a.m. MELBOURNE, May 16. Pilot Officer Rae, of the Royal Australian Air Force, was yesterday engaged in acrobatics over Point Cook in a British ’plane. Suddenly something went wrong with the wing. The pilot jumped from the 'plane, released the parachute and landed safely in a paddock. The machine crashed, and was wrecked.
