CYCLE ROAD RACE.

HANDICAPS FOR SATURDAY. The opening road race to be held by the Manawatu Amateur Athletic Club for this season will be next Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. The course will be from the corner of Fentherston and Rangitikei Streets to Bunnythorpe via Boundary Road,' thence across to R'U.igitikei IJine and finish at the starting point, a distance of about 15 miles. A beautiful racing cycle valued at £l4 14s has been presented by Mr Thompson, Rangitikei Street, to be competed for as a points prize for 10 open cycle road races, points to count 5 for first, 3 for second, 1 for third and 1 for fastest time. Mr J. Boucher, of Cuba Street, has also donated a silver cup to bo. competed for as a points prize for the same races with a stipulation that only riders of Boucher cycles are eligible to compete for same. Mr Boucher donated a £lO 10s cup four years ago as a points prize and the same was won by A. Christian, he being the only member in that period to win three races in a. season. An open order will also be given the winner to the value of £1 donated by a Manawatu Club cyclist, the second rider to receive an order for 10s donated by Mr N. Dixon, cyclist (also secretary to the Manawatu Club), also 10s for the fastest' time rider donated by other members of the committee. The following are the handicaps declared by Mr \V.
