MISS JOHNSON HELD UP. REPAIRS TO MOTH ’PLANE. RANGOON, May 14. Tho damage to Miss Johnson’s ’plane is not serious. The repairs are being effected locally. All going well, Miss Johnson intends to make her return flight iu a fortnight's time. PARENTS’ CONCERN. LONDON, May 13. At the Rotarian Conference to-day, the president, Sir Charles Mander, read a message about Miss Johnson’s forced landing/' Mrs Johnson, a grey-clad figure, was over-joyed when told that her daughter was unhurt. She stated: “I wouldn’t be broken-hearted even if Amv did not break any records on her flight to Australia.” Mrs Johnson clung to the arm of her husband as he deplored his daughter’s hard luck. He hoped that she would complete tho flight. ESCORT IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, May 14. When Miss Amy Johnson arrives at Darwin she will have an escort of several aeroplanes, _ chiefly from the Queensland Air Service. The women’s sports organisations in New South AVales and Victoria are awaiting Miss Johnson’s arrival with particular interest. It is intended to give her a fitting welcome.
