RIFLE SHOOTING.
Scores were of a very high average on Monday evening tor the third practice of the season of the Linton Rifle Club. J. McAvinue again showed brilliance by getting a double possible. This member has got into form early and is again at the head of the ladder. Single possibles were scored by J. Dalziel and B. G. Salmons, the following being the scores for the evening:—J. McAvinue, 70, 70, 140; B. G. Salmons, 68, 70, 138; G. H. Shellev, 69, 69, 138; H. Barlow, 69, 69, 158; J. Dalziel, 67, 70, 137; W. Kells, 69, 68, 137; J. Craig, 67, 69, 136; H. Wagstaff, 68, 68, 136; A. Barnard, 67, 67, 134; J. Griffiths, 67, 67, 134; F. R. Lewis, 67, 67, 134; H. Alltree, 68, 66, 134; A. Leyland, 66, 67, 133; C. Simpson, 67, 66, 133; H. G. Byers, 6G, 65, 131; C. J. Page, 65, oi, 126; A. Jensen, 61, 64, 125; J. Matthews, 59, 58, 117. The following will represent the R.S.A. Rifle Club in a match against Rangiotu, at the Rangiotu range on Friday evening : R. Lewis, K. Ross, L. Hastings, G. Davey, A. Crowe, R. A. Jones; P. Wackildene, It. Pratt, W. Matheson, N. Han6on, D. Eustace, E. Halpin, J. Macaulay, C. Teague; emergency, W. Cook. The classification into A an B sections will be decided on Thursday evening's shoot. A bus will leave the R.S.A. range at 7 o’clock on Friday evening for Rangiotu.
