STILL DRAGGING ON. SYDNEY, May 13. The coal dispute drags on. The question whether the miners will return to work on the owners’ terms will be definitely decided at aggregate meetings in various parts of the Northern coalfields, probably on Thursday. Mr D. Davies general secretary of the Miners’ Federation, has received a telegram from the Federal Treasurer, Mr E. G. Theodore, containing an offer by the Commonwealth Government i f £IOO,OOO for the repatriation of excess miners conditional on a settlement of the coal dispute. It is believed that this offer will go a long way toward getting the miners’ assent to acceptance of the owners' terms.
