Station 2YA Wellington did not commence transmitting till 9.45 o’clock last evening, when the broadcast continued till 11 o’clock. The delay was caused by the burning out of two condensers, one each in the tuning and operating units. Mr Drummond, the announcer, explained that some time was spent in locating the trouble, and that a large portion of the plant had to be dismantled to replace the defective components. Tho Salon Orchestra remained in the studio till the station came on the air, when they presented a number of items.
