WHARF ACCIDENT.
DAMAGES AWARDED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 13. For the loss of their father, who was killed as the result of an accident on the waterfront last year, two children were awarded £1521 7s 6d damages by Mr Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court yesterdiy, judgment being entered by consent. On December 3, James Kirkwood one of a gang of men employed in loading the New Zealand Shipping Company’s- steamer Rangitiki, at -he Queen’s AVharf. He was struck by an empty butter tray, weighing about 2cwt., which fell from the hook as it was being hoisted back to the wharf for reloading.
