BRIBERY CHARGES
AUSTRALIAN INQUIRY
CANBERRA, May 12. The Prime Minister, Mr J. H. Scullin, announces that Judge Dethridge has been appointed to inquire into the allegation of bribery concerning certain members of the Federal Public Works Committee. Mr Scullin stated in the House of Representatives last week that Mr Roland Green, M.P., who was a member of the Public Works Committee, had informed him that every member of the committee, except Mr Green himself, had accepted a bribe from an unnamed man, who desired a decision in favour of the A class broadcasting stations in a claim for compensation from the Government, following the taking over of these stations.
