NEW POET LAUREATE.
JOHN MASEFIELD APPOINTED Received May 10, 11 a.m. LONDON, May 9. Mr John Masefield has been appointed Poet Laureate. Mr Masefield’s works are well known —“Salt Water Ballads,” “The Widow in the Bye-Street,” “The Everlasting Mercy,” “Reynard the Fox”; the plays “Good Friday,” “The Coming of Christ,” “The Locked Chest,” etc.
