Per Pres 6 Association. DUNEDIN, May 9. At a meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association to-day it was decided to remove the lifo disqualification on J. Russell, of Invercargill, on account of his illhealth. The action of tho Metropolitan Club was endorsed in tho inquiries; following tho driving of Tom Thumb by F. G. Holmes; tile placing of Nighborn second in the Summer Handicap, uie driver (M. Holmes) not having puued him back to his gait; and tile alleged inconsistent running of Harold Thorpe. In each case the club took no action.

The association decided to rotor the report back to the club to ascertain under what rule the fine was imposed. The club's action ill dismissing the protest was endorsed. Tho decision of the Wanganui Club to take no action at the inquiry into the running of Uckley Wood, driven by L. F. Berkett, was endorsed. A report was received from tho Hawera Club tliat C. King had been charged wit.* handling Royal bilk in an unsatisfackjry manner. In the committee's opinion Km b drove a badly-judged race, and ho wui. cautioned.

The Bore Trotting Club reported a complaint by J. G. Cruickshana tliat an unauthorised person had assisted at the start of the Alataura Handicap with tm horse Keen Derby, and that tho horse lit, interfered with his mare, Merco Bingen. Tile club stated that tile assistant hue. been a stable hand.
