ACCOUNTANT CHARGED.
AUCKLAND CASE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 11. . After being arrested in the city this afternoon, Bernard Sidney Spencer, public accountant, appeared in the Police Court to answer a charge of false pretences. The charge was “that on April 2, 1929, accused did obtain from A. A. Corbin "and Co. a cheque for £27 8s by means of false pretence, by falsely representing that he did a the amount for income tax on hoof the Company The Magistrate remanded accused to appear next Thursday. It was stated that further charges were pending. An application fof bail was made on behalf of accused, and the Magistrate fixed the amount at £IOO0 —self in £SOO and t.to seurties of £250 each.
