Y.M.C.A. DEBATING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. Nearly 20 members were present at the annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Debating Club, which was held last evening. Mr T. Pitama presided. The annual report, in which a very successful year was reviewed, was were elected as follow: President, Mr Pitama; secretary, Mr j Dempsey; committee, Messrs Wright, Pitama, Dempsey, M. Jobberns, L. Hardy and R. Haddon. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. The first meeting was fixed for next Tuesday, when impromptu speeches will be given. • After May 2, tire night of meeting was fixed for everv second Friday. It was decided to hold a mock Parliament m conjunction with the Junior Reform. Leacue The secretary (Mr J. Dempsey) was'thanked for his soy vices during the ye ft' was announced that the club would be represented in the forthcoming competitions by Messrs Pitama, Wright, Manly, J- Fox and L. Hunt.
