INSUFFICIENT MEANS OF SUPPORT. . Charges of being found drunk in Main Street yesterday, and of being an idle and disorderly person,' without sufficient lawful visible means of support, were preferred against Steven Francis Llyllwyn Neary, a labourer aged 32 of Auckland, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. Accused pleaded guilty^to the first charge but denied being idle and disorderly, saying that ho was working a fortnight ago. _ . • ■ . Following complaints received, stated Constable Colbo.urne, he watched accused and found him accosting people. He had three single shillings, three sixpences threepenny pieces and pennies in his possession when arrested. He had been put out of. an hotel by the licensee and had been making a perfect nuisance of himself all the afternoon. Accused said that he did not remember anything until he was walking up the street with the constable, when ho sobered up a little. Accused was convicted and fined ss, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment, on the first charge, and ordered to come up for sentence, if called upon at any time within six months, on the second.
