AVOIDED COLLISION
VAN CRASHES DOWN BANK. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 10. In order to avoid colliding with a car driven by a woman, Mr Victor Milne, a young man, had a remarkable escape to-day when a delivery van he was driving hurtled over a 20ft. bank and burst into flames. Mr Milne was driving round a corner and met a car driven bv a woman. He swerved to avoid a collision, his van crashing through a fence and rolling down the bank. Milne extricated himself from the damaged- vehicle in time to escape burns. He went to a nearby house for assistance, and on returning to the scene he fainted.. His condition to-night is satisfactory, extensive bruising being the only apparent injury apart from shock.
