LICENSING LAW.

CASE IN THE NORTH. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 10. Mr Justice Herdman to-clay delivered his decision that the Marsden Licensing Committee had no jurisdiction to issue a publican’s license for the Kamo Springs Hotel. He declared that the license was not renewed in 1917, and when it was granted in June, 1929, it had been “dead” for twelve years. Dealing with the argument that the law permits the resurrection of a license, His Honour said that proceedings might be taken at tho first annual meeting after forfeiture on nonrenewal, but in this case that time had long since expired. He therefore granted the application made by tivo ot the Marsden electors for a writ of certiorari to quash the committee’s certificate.
