DEER STALKING.
SOME GOOD HEADS SECURED. Although deer stalkers have not had the best of sport this year owing to the exceptionally dry weather, a Palmerston North party secured some excellent heads early this week. Mr D. Brophy got a big 11-pointer and Mr R. Hall heavy 11 and 12-pointers. The third member of the party, Mr E. Barling, however, secured the best head- so rar taken this season in the Manawatu district, a beautiful 14-pointer. The last-named sportsman also shot an 8pointer. These heads were taken in the Mangahao Valley. Other pnrties were out, but the only head of nny size reported was a good 12-pointer shot by Mr D. Honore.
