ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. Per Press Association. ' WELLINGTON. April 8. The council of the New Zealand Football Association, referring to riie itinerary submitted for 'a tour of-Aus-tralia by a New Zealand team of prvmary schoolboys, said that the itinerary was prepared without a knowledge of suitable dates. Mr R. Harrison, of Auckland, who is in charge of arrangements for the boys’ tour, wrote to the effect that he was against combining the boys’ tour with that of the senior team. He would be in Wellington in May and hoped to visit the South Island also, in order that be might see" the boys playing and make a selection. He gathered that the senior team would go in June if it did go, but the boys could not go until-the August holidays. , . The Southland Football Association submitted the following remit for the annual meeting next Monday: “That future selections of representative teams be made by a North Island and a South Island selector, the latter to be a resident of Otago and,that prior to the filial selection, a' North versus South Island match be played.. ... Tlie Auckland Football Association bad already nominated Mr P. Neesham for tlie position of selector for the New Zealand team to visit Australia-and wrote again, nominating Mr F. Campbell as manager, and suggesting that the position -of assistant-manager be offered to the selector 'when appointed. ■ - - - . Auckland sent the following remit for the annual meeting:—“That applir cation be made to the English Football Association for. leave to require the replacement of injured players in New Zealand.”
