BRITISH BUDGET
FORECAST MADE. HIGHER TAXATION. BEER AND TOBACCO DUTIES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, April 7. The Daily Telegrapn’s diplomatic coring will be among the Budget fearespondent forecasts that the followtures :—Retention of the McKenna and silk duties; no increase in the standard rate of income-tax; higher taxation of unearned incomes; increased surtax, which probably will begin at a salary of £1500; higher death duties: increased duties on beer, tobacfio, and petrol; taxation of land values. In his Budget the Chancellor of the Exchequer lias to make provision to meet a deficit estimated at considerably over £40,000,000.
